EUROPEAN NAZARENE COLLEGE
QUESTIONNAIRE — GRADUATES

Introduction

The Diploma in Christian Ministry (DCM) and the Advanced Diploma in Applied Theology (ADAT), with their approved district adaptations, form the validated Course of Study constituting the validated educational pathway for ordination in the Districts served by European Nazarene College (EuNC). The current validation was approved in 2019 and reaffirmed in 2023. EuNC is preparing its revalidation submission for autumn 2028, and this survey is part of the consultations with Districts and Learning Centres that began in 2026.

Please evaluate the Course of Study across the current validation period (since its approval in 2019), or for as long as you have served in your present role, rather than focusing only on the current academic year. Feedback from students, alumni and local churches may be gathered through separate instruments; this survey concerns the Districts and the Learning Centres.

Some elements of ministerial formation must remain common across the denomination: denominational validation, formation through Content, Competency, Character and Context (the “four Cs”), the minimum 3600 learning hours, Wesleyan-Holiness theological coherence, supervised ministry in partnership with local churches and Districts, and quality assurance across all delivery modes. These elements are therefore not the subject of this consultation but provide the framework within which future development will take place. Other areas are genuinely open to development, such as how courses are delivered and assessed, recognition of prior learning and ministerial experience, and formation for lay ministry. The questions ask how well the common elements have worked and where development is most needed.

Please complete only the questionnaire corresponding to your primary role. If you serve in more than one capacity (for example, both as a District leader and a Learning Centre leader), you are welcome to complete the relevant questionnaire for each role separately. Please indicate whether your response represents your personal judgement or has been discussed with the relevant District or Learning Centre leadership.

Completion normally takes between fifteen and twenty minutes. There are no right or wrong answers. We are interested in your honest judgment based on your experience during the current validation period.

Confidentiality

Responses will be aggregated in reporting to RCOSAC and to EuNC’s governance bodies. Because some Districts and Learning Centres are small, quotations from open responses may be paraphrased or anonymised where needed, and no comment will be attributed to any named individual or identifiable role in any report. Participation in potential follow-up consultations or focus groups is entirely voluntary. Raw responses will be accessible only to the steering group dealing with the revalidation process, will be retained no longer than the completion of the validation process, and you may withdraw your response at any point before aggregation by contacting the Academic Dean (dean@eunc.edu). Responses will be used solely for institutional quality assurance and revalidation reporting, not for individual performance evaluation of District leaders, Learning Centre coordinators, faculty members, or other respondents.

How to respond

Unless otherwise indicated, please rate each statement on a five-point scale: 1 = strongly disagree; 2 = disagree; 3 = neither agree nor disagree; 4 = agree; 5 = strongly agree. Select “Unable to judge” only where you have no basis for an assessment, and “Not applicable”, where offered, if the item does not apply to your Learning Centre (for example, a delivery mode or programme you do not offer). Open questions may be answered in the language in which you received this questionnaire.

Important: Unless a question states otherwise, every statement refers to your experience across the current validation period (since the 2019 approval, or for as long as you have held your role within that period), not only to the present academic year.
