EUROPEAN NAZARENE COLLEGE
FACULTY CONSENT FOR TRANSFER OF DATA

Data protection and privacy information for the transfer of data

EuNC is a decentralised school with learning centres in many different countries, staff in several countries, and international connections within the worldwide Church of the Nazarene. Therefore, we transfer data for several reasons. The data to be transferred and published can be general data, as listed in Art. 6 GDPR, as well as special data as listed in Art. 9 GDPR. The following data can be used: name, email address, country, LC, photos, videos, voice, biographies, statements, interviews, testimonies, teaching subjects, and educational level.

Internal data transfer: To carry out our educational mandate and fulfil our agreement with students, all faculty data is shared internally. As a rule, this is done via our cloud storage and via service providers. It is important to note that some of the data recipients are located outside the European Union, in so-called third countries. Since some of this data is special data, we require your consent for the exchange in accordance with Art. 49 subs. 1 lit. a) GDPR.

External data transfer: As an educational institution of the Church of the Nazarene, there are always requests to share information. This usually involves collaboration with the International Board of Education (IBOE) of the Church of the Nazarene, the Global Ministry Centre (GMC) of the Church of the Nazarene Inc. and various processors. This data exchange enables shorter communication channels and faster decisions, and is also used for statistical surveys and evaluations. This involves the transfer of data to third parties and, in some cases, the transfer of data to third countries. Here, too, we require your consent for this exchange of data and information in accordance with Art. 49 subs. 1 lit. a) GDPR.

Publication for class promotion: In order to advertise the classes offered by EuNC, the following data can be published: name, academic degree, e-mail address, and photo. We understand this publication as part of the agreement between the teacher and EuNC. The data is published internally and externally, including third countries. The processing of the data is based on Art. 49 subs. 1 lit. b) GDPR. Data is removed when a teacher no longer has an active faculty agreement.

Publication in academic information materials (e.g. Academic Catalogue): In order to fulfil our mandate as an educational institution, we have to provide relevant information to students, potential students, parent institutions, accreditation bodies, and sister schools. We do this via our Academic Catalogue and other material that we provide through our website. Therefore, data is published internally and externally, including third countries. The processing of the data is based on Art. 49 subs. 1 lit. b) GDPR. Data is removed when a teacher no longer has an active faculty agreement.

Publication for EuNC PR work: In order to inform about the ministry of EuNC, teachers may be asked to submit articles, reports, or testimonies. In addition to these PR contributions, the following data can be published: Given name, Family name, Email address, Country, Photos, Videos. Voice, Reports on activities related to EuNC, also stories and narratives.

The data may be used for all or any of the following purposes:
*
This may include the following:

  • Publication in our newsletter
  • Publication on our website
  • Publication on our social media (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube etc.)
  • Publication in video streams (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Vimeo, etc.)

According to Art. 6 subs. 1 lit. a), Art. 9 subs. 2 lit. a) and Art. 49 subs. 1 lit. a) GDPR all named data will be processed based on consent. Excluded from this is the storing and archiving. This processing is based on Art. 6 subs. 1 lit. f) GDPR.

The active publication of the data is limited to 5 years. By this period, the data will be deleted from the above-mentioned online platforms. For historical purposes/research, the data may be stored within EuNC’s archives for an indefinite period of time.

Please note that the publication of data by EuNC may be an indication of the religious beliefs of a person. Please note that information, images and audio/video recordings published on the internet can be accessed worldwide. Information published on the internet can be downloaded and processed by anyone worldwide. Once information is published on the Internet, it can hardly be removed.

Be aware that countries outside of the EU are not legally bound to the GDPR and may not be understood as a safe third country in the sense of the GDPR. This means that data could be processed or requested from organisations hosting that data by authorities of countries outside of the EU for various purposes, without any rights for you to have legal action against it. It can therefore not be ruled out that these authorities process, evaluate, and permanently store your data for monitoring purposes. We have no influence on these processing activities. Responsible for the data transfer is European Nazarene College e.V., Frankfurter Strasse 16-18, 63571 Gelnhausen, Germany, represented by the executive committee of the board as the controller. The contact person is our data protection officer, Tanja Baum, email: dpo@eunc.edu.

This agreement is valid for all processing activities described above throughout the entire duration of faculty membership.

At any time, you have the opportunity to obtain information from the controller of EuNC on the personal data transferred as well as to request the correction, deletion or restriction. In addition, there is the right to submit a complaint to the competent supervisory authority.

Furthermore, you may at any time revoke your consent in effect for future transfers. For the withdrawal of this consent, send an email to: dpo@eunc.edu.
